| car problems part IIi've had a couple of car problems...and well...it only gets worse...
it's friday night and i go over to game night at vivians...well not much of a game night...watched some people play electronic monopoly. (it's the monopoly for people who cant count) (also known as monopoly for me because i cant count) so i end up getting home around 1:30 in the morning and i basically don't come out of my room until saturday night...and i only come out because i need to do laundry.
anyways i come out only to find that my driver side front window has been smashed into a billion pieces and now resides in my car and all on the floor. i would insert a picture here but i already fixed my window and the only thing to take a picture of is the glass on the floor.
so they took my iPod mini -- that's pretty much it. my apartment had put a notice up earlier in the month about how there has been some recent break-ins into other people's cars and so far...the apartment complex has done nothing to help this situation out.
so...all in all...i've been thinking...it's about time to get a new car. (maybe if i can just stop spending all my money on fixing this car first... =[ )

| car problemssince i've been in austin, and since i've had my car up here, i haven't had any kind of car problems. well nothing major....i've always heard stories from people who drove their car up to austin just to get it smacked around by the incredibly terrible roads of downtown austin, the incredibly bad drivers of austin or some drunk punk ass douche who decided your car was the best place for them to try their new wrestling moves.
anyways, since starting to work for Dell, i just started having some car problems, and it's not really the kind of car problems that normal people have on normal days. (getting into an accident, running into a pole, running over a curb, etc.) anyways here's the first story
MIRROR MIRROR ON THE FLOOR?
it was the weekend that xiao and lex were gonna come visit. xiao kind of took off without saying bye to me (jerk) anyways lex was coming into town for obvious reasons...(this was the weekend of ACL) and it was just hao liu's (former roomate) 21st birthday. so it was like...the first week of work and i was just ready for the weekend to hang out. i was pretty excited to be able to just chill with friends like we did in college, so i ended up going over to mok's with the promise of playing bang! so i just ended up going to 7-11 and buying some beer to celebrate hao's birthday and for friends coming to visit. so i end up parking right in front of mok's apartment, also known as chesnut place or something like that.
when i finally get to mok's, noone is there, well besides steven tu and jonathan (their other roommate) anyways i end up calling lex and finding out he's at lantern lanes in grace kao and elaine dea's apartment doing tech support. so i head on over, i walk over because it's only a 3 minute walk or so...maybe longer for me because i walk really slow...but anyways i eventually make my way over there and hang out at lantern for a bit. we aren't even there for an entire hour, and head back to chesnut because mok and peter are back. when we finally get there, everyone decides to go to hao's place because there's more room at hao's place. so i decided i would drive over there and as i'm walking to my car (it's about 11:30pm by this time) and i see something on the floor. i walk up to it and kinda nudge it with my foot, meanwhile asking lex and karen "what is this?" i soon realize that it's one of my sideview mirrors...sitting on the floor in front of my car. i pick it up and see that the mirror itself is smashed and there's glass from the mirror on the floor. so...naturally i'm pissed, but i think i was too tired to do anything...anyways here's the mirror

replacing it ended up costing me $200 =[ - my guess....is either: 1. some drunk douchebag from ACL decided that smashing my window would be fun and just ran off 2. some idiot austin driver doesnt know how to drive and drove to freaking close to my car and just drove off ...sigh
second story: i was driving around and i noticed there was a crack on my door handle from the inside. anyways i decided to go out for lunch this past week and a couple of my co-workers came along with me. we decided we would head over to subway which is fairly close by where we work. anyways we arrive at subway and im ready to get out of my car as i grab my door handle, i hear something snap. to my dismay, my freaking door handle broke from the inside. i cant open the door from the inside anymore, so i have to take my car to a autozone or something to see if i can get it fixed myself or if i have to drop it off in the shop.
here are the pictures i took

i wonder how much this sucker is going to cost me... =[

| new beginningsso...not sure who still reads xanga, but i guess ill update for my own sake (and angela's)
so summer finally ended and i moved up to austin to start a new job/career at dell. i have tons and tons of pictures from the summer because i got to borrow uncle alfred's nikon d50. talk about an expensive hobby. i decided that investing in a camera will be something that i will want to do in the future, but im going to have to put it off for now just because i dont think i can afford it. if you want to check out my pictures, check my flickr
anyways the first week of training was last week and it was definitely long and it was definitely hard waking up so early every single day. but i guess its just assimilating myself into the real world.
the new apartment is really great. titus and i are right next to pretty much everything. we're really close to china town, round rock, aboretum, and campus is just 15 minutes away as well. however, there aren't many people that live close to us. its ok, bc our apartment is really spacious. titus and i dont have enough stuff to fill the apartment, but then again, we just graduated from college so we dont really have that much stuff yet.
anyways i definitely have to say that starting off working is pretty tough. i definitely miss going to work at FBCC and seeing cynthia, stan and sam every single day. not only that i think i miss leading worship even more. playing guitar by myself just isn't the same. i'm not really sure where to go to church yet -- i really want a place where i can get plugged in, but with my working schedule, i'm not really sure where i can...anyways i think i'm just lazy and don't really want to put myself out there.
my car got owned, but i'll leave that story for another entry
overall i am excited to start something new and to see how i stack in the working world. mmm...i would update with pictures, but...it's getting late and i'm ready to go to bed....at 10:50pm =[ | | |
| battle to the deathso............
yesterday, my sister storms into my room and says
"guh, gamestop just called and they JUST got a shipment of Wii's
so...let's go"
(thats actually just a short summary of our conversation)
but
anyways as i gather my things together and i open my bedroom door to
leave, i see this HUGE bug fly straight into my room. i'm like "OH
JEEZE" but once it flew into my room, i couldnt see it anymore. my
sister was pretty urgent on getting there soon so i shrugged it off and
we went ahead to gamestop
later that night, im on my computer
and suddenly i hear this noise, a bug flying around my room and i turn
around and i cant really make out what it is because its really dark in
my room, but i can see it flying around, so i turn to my computer to
tell lex and phil that theres something in my room. and once i turn
around again, its gone.
this morning im tired, and im getting
my stuff together to get to work, and i hear the noise again. only this
time, i turn on the lights in my room and i look up, only to see a wasp
flying around my room. (note: i HATE wasps) so what happens? im looking
around my room for something i can swing at it, or at least smash it.
my
first thought was to get some spray thing, but then its in my room and
i dont want all my stuff smelling like bug spray, so i think...maybe a
shoe, but then the wasp was flying up near my ceiling so i needed
something with more range. i went to mexico a long time ago and i
bought this souvenir sword that has spanish and stuff written all on
it. it's an actual blade, but it's not very sharp, but it's long enough
to reach the ceiling. so i grab it....then i realize the chances of me
actually cutting the wasp was probably a negative number...so i put it
down and i run into my closet, all the time keeping an eye on the wasp,
because i dont want that thing flying around in my room when i get
home, anyways i find 2 old tennis rackets, im not sure why they are
there, but i grab them both.
so you're probably thinking, why
would you need to grab BOTH rackets? well, honestly i didnt need both,
but i've been watching this anime One Piece, and this guy uses 3 SWORDS
to own people, so i figured, i dont have 3...but 2 is close enough, and
2 is better than 1 right? anyways i grab both and so begins my long
showdown with the wasp of death. (that's right i named it...so what,
you wanna fight?) the one in my right hand is mainly for swinging and
the one in the left is just in case it gets past my right hand,
but...obviously my left hand is useless because i have a splint on it
and a hairline fracture on my wrist....but i take both out and start
swinging at the wasp
anyways after about 5 minutes of me
swinging and missing, the wasp decides to land on top of my light
fixture, so im like great, i cant whack it when its above there, so i
spend another 3 minutes trying to get it to fly back out. after that,
it finally decides to fly out and basically it starts flying lower, i
can definitely tell that i've pissed it off. it starts flying lower and
against the walls instead of the ceilings, at this point im not tired,
my adrenaline is pumping and im scared to death that im gonna get stung
real soon. it flies against one of my posters, the poster is mostly
dark colors so i lose it for a second, especially since ive been
staring at my light for the past 3 minutes, all of a sudden i see it
flying straight towards me, nobody is at home...so i scream like a
little girl. yea, i'll admit it i screamed, it's freaking scary ok?
at
the same time i scream i take a huge swing at it, and i can hear it, i
actually hit it, and it hits my closet door, but it starts flying up
again, so i take the racket and i take a clean whack at it, only its
not that clean because i caught part of my closet door with it and it
finally falls to the carpet. since it flew straight at me, i kind
stumbled backwards and knocked over my tv table in my room. i see this
is my opportunity! i take the rackets and i smash the wasp as hard as i could, just because i hate them so much.
at this point, i
felt like, since i took so much effort to battle this wasp, i might as
well take pictures of it. unfortunately uncle alfred asked for his
nikon back, so i had to use my puny point and shoot. anyways here are
the pictures of victory

my door and my weapons of choice
